Let's Take This Journey Together

In my attempt to find information for our adoption process from Uganda, I became quickly aware that there just isn't much out there. I wanted to create a way for all of us taking this journey together to be able to walk along-side each other. A place we can find other people taking this journey with us. A place to encourage each other during the journey. A place to keep up with the family after the adoption is finalized, because, let's face it, the adoption is only the beginning of this journey!

If you are in the process of adopting from Uganda and are blogging about your journey, please e-mail joshntash@hotmail.com so I can add you to the hopefully growing list of people who are bringing these orphans home!

the ColonyShop - Helping Families Fund Their Adoptions

While we were searching for fundraising options during our adoption I was blown away with how expensive some of the items were for us to purchase and then how much higher in price we would have to go in order to make even a little bit of money.

So, today, after making an item (from my Etsy shop) for a family having an adoption auction for their 2nd special needs adoption, I realized that I could help raise awareness of your own need, while giving a small token to those willing and able to bless your family during this time.

I am so well aware of the toll it takes on a family to financially afford to adopt, but being on the other side, I know that it CAN HAPPEN!  And I'm so excited to be on the other side of it and able to begin helping others through their own adoptions and allow others to find your stories through our Social Media outlets!

Kirabo Seeds - A Place To Stay

Hey adoptive families.  I wanted to share this opportunity with you all.  I was contacted about an apartment that has been opened up for rent for those of you needing a place to stay while finalizing your adoption(s) in Kampala.

I do not personally know much about the ministry so check out all the details yourself!  It seems to be a lovely place with a big heart for the children in Uganda:)

Ethics and Adoption

Because I have strong beliefs, but hate confrontation, and because there is a growing, urgent need to stop unethical adoptions while still desperately trying to keep adoptions open for families doing this the right way and for children who really do need a family, and knowing that not one single case is the same and a gazillion factors come into play, I would like to give you a GREAT blog from a beautiful friend of mine, well, actually she isn't a friend per say, but a mere acquaintance via blogosphere whom I've never shared correspondence with at all, but that's beside the point, but none-the-less very wise and will statistically, lovingly and morally break it all down for you in a way that I feel like I can agree with, even if I do have to agree with it in a ridiculously long, unnecessary run-on sentence...

So here is the blog (series) by Jen Hatmaker.  Thanks Jen for allowing me to link back to your knowledge of this very delicate issue.

All Your Uganda Adoption Questions Answered

Well, not really, but these are the questions that I get most frequently:)

Go check it out and leave a comment over there if you have any other questions you think would be good to add to the list or revisions to any of the answers:)  This is by no means meant to be exhaustive, but rather a place people can go to get general information based on what we have seen from our own experience and others around us.

***All information is based on our personal experience and opinions.***

We have been bombarded (in a good way) with inquiries about the Uganda process, traveling with little ones, money and so many more questions, that we thought we would do a post on our AlethiaGrace.wordpress.com blog for everyone to be directed to.

I need your help, though.

I have been getting at least 1-2 emails a week with questions and cannot keep up with them all...

Let me know of some questions that you think would be helpful to include for families beginning the process to families just returning home!

If you have adopted, what are some questions you had that you needed answered or things you wish you would have known.

If you've not yet adopted, what are some questions that have come up that you need answers for?
