I think the hardest part of this process, so far, is the fact that we are the first group of adoptions that are going through this orphanage. There have been a lot of unanswered questions and Uganda isn't the quickest country to get answers from (if you've ever been there you know exactly what I'm talking about). It's nothing against them, they just have a different culture than we do.
Yesterday, Thanksgiving, we had a breakthrough! I can't think of anything else that could have made our Thanksgiving any better than knowing that we have had this breakthrough! I know it sounds vague, but I don't want to go into a ton of detail.
Just Praise The Lord with us as we rejoice in this breakthrough and continue to pray through this whole process as we work on bringing our little girl home!
Let's Take This Journey Together
In my attempt to find information for our adoption process from Uganda, I became quickly aware that there just isn't much out there. I wanted to create a way for all of us taking this journey together to be able to walk along-side each other. A place we can find other people taking this journey with us. A place to encourage each other during the journey. A place to keep up with the family after the adoption is finalized, because, let's face it, the adoption is only the beginning of this journey!
If you are in the process of adopting from Uganda and are blogging about your journey, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org so I can add you to the hopefully growing list of people who are bringing these orphans home!
