While Josh and I were sitting down together for dinner last night, our gaze rested on the pictures of our little Uganda girl on our refrigerator. We both sat there in silence for a few minutes and then I realized how I was feeling inside.
It's kind of like the first trimester of a pregnancy. When you first find out you are pregnant you KNOW you are pregnant, you KNOW that eventually you are going to be holding that little life, you KNOW your life is about to change in a HUGE and WONDERFUL way...but it just doesn't seem real yet.
That sums up exactly how I am feeling right now.
I KNOW we are adopting, I KNOW that eventually we are going to be holding the little life God has chosen for us to bring home, and I KNOW our family is about to change in a HUGE and WONDERFUL way...but it just doesn't seem real yet.
Let's Take This Journey Together
In my attempt to find information for our adoption process from Uganda, I became quickly aware that there just isn't much out there. I wanted to create a way for all of us taking this journey together to be able to walk along-side each other. A place we can find other people taking this journey with us. A place to encourage each other during the journey. A place to keep up with the family after the adoption is finalized, because, let's face it, the adoption is only the beginning of this journey!
If you are in the process of adopting from Uganda and are blogging about your journey, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org so I can add you to the hopefully growing list of people who are bringing these orphans home!
