Our first Homestudy visit went very well. Very.Well. Our agent is fabulous and totally put our minds at ease. I'm not worried at all about our second visit, which will be toward the beginning of January. The only thing paperwork-wise that we have to do to complete our homestudy paperwork is Josh's medical and that is scheduled for the beginning of January so we are actually at a stand-still with forms and such. It's a welcomed lull with the craziness of my grandmother's funeral and our trip to Charlotte, not to mention Christmas being right around the corner and another Sunday trying to get the rest of the sponsors for the Orphans.
Here is the news we've been waiting for...
I got an email from the facilitator in Uganda and he has finally received the funding to begin the process for the little girl we are hoping to adopt! I couldn't be more thrilled to have gotten this news!!! This means that things are progressing on both ends now!
Let's Take This Journey Together
In my attempt to find information for our adoption process from Uganda, I became quickly aware that there just isn't much out there. I wanted to create a way for all of us taking this journey together to be able to walk along-side each other. A place we can find other people taking this journey with us. A place to encourage each other during the journey. A place to keep up with the family after the adoption is finalized, because, let's face it, the adoption is only the beginning of this journey!
If you are in the process of adopting from Uganda and are blogging about your journey, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org so I can add you to the hopefully growing list of people who are bringing these orphans home!
